Call for submission for anthology of stories to be launched during festival Season Submission Opens 1st – 20 March 2026 | The Writer Monk Stories Vol.2-26

We are delighted to invite submissions for an upcoming themed anthology, inspired by the emotional spirit of traditional festivals, celebrations that embody renewal, devotion, passion, and transformation.

Writers are encouraged to retain cultural texture and emotional subtlety and let the readers imagination meet your work with curiosity and openness. The anthology values authentic voice alongside engaging storytelling.

This call is open to both emerging and established writers to submit their unpublished original work.

Romance – Romantasy (Not just love stories)

We seek narratives where emotion is honest, authentic, felt from a quiet emotional realistic romance to richly imagined Romantasy where love co-exists with myth or speculative world. Stories with a global appeal and literary depth, It could be set in everyday or an imagined world. Romance must remain at the heart of the narrative.

Exploring speculative, supernatural, mythical, drawn from folklore or mythology.

Exploring the impact of climate change and realism

Sci-Fi

Exploring speculative, futuristic and scientific based fiction

Original & unpublished work

Please do not submit AI generated or AI assisted work, if found the same will be reected without further notice

Simultaneous submission will not be accepted. Please understand we are working on in a tight schedule and minimal hands and mind to (Voluntary) support. Interruption in work could cause delay in the publishing deadlines.

The results of submission acceptance will be declared by 20 April 2026. However if you do not hear from us within a week’s time of declaring results, please consider submitting it elsewhere .

Submission has to be done in one wordfile.doc in a single submission, along with a short bio of 100 words max, with the authors name, country of origin. Bio to be in third person with polite and approachable tone. A declaration along with bio stating the content is original, nonpliagarised and you are the rightful owner of the work / content (Mandatory). Please attach a self (JPEG FORMAT) photograph 1.35″ X 1.35″ (inches). Please note submissions as per the guidelines only will be accepted.

Selected works will be featured in a curated anthology intended for festival circulation, literary showcases, and international audiences.

Submissions open 1st March – 20 March 2026.

Rights & Distribution

All submissions are accepted on a non-exclusive basis, unless otherwise specified in writing.

Rights Granted

By submitting a story, the author grants the publisher/editor:

  • First anthology publication rights (print and digital)
  • The right to include the work in festival showcases, readings, and promotional excerpts related to the anthology
  • The right to use short excerpts for marketing, publicity, and press purposes
  • All rights granted are limited to this anthology and its direct promotional use.

Rights Retained by Author

  • Authors retain full copyright of their work
  • Authors may republish the story elsewhere after publication, with an acknowledgment of first publication in this anthology
  • Authors may include the work in future collections, portfolios, or personal platforms

Distribution

The anthology may be distributed through:

  • Literary festivals and cultural events
  • Print and digital platforms
  • Book fairs, libraries, and academic or cultural institutions
  • International markets through partner publishers or distributors

Distribution may be local or international, depending on anthology reach and partnerships.

Compensation

Contributors will receive complimentary digital (soft) copies / contributor recognition.

The authors are promoted through various social media along with their published work

Author Credit

All published works will carry full author attribution, including name and short bio with image of the author.
