What We’re Looking For
We at The Writer Monk are on the lookout for fresh as well as experienced voices, compelling stories that drive the imagination to a higher level. We are in look out for fresh new style of writing, narratives that push the boundaries of poetry, literary fiction and creative non-fiction.
It matters to us if you are an aspirant writer with a fresh, new, different perspective, emerging new thoughts and style of writing. We also invite established writers to share your work with us for publication. We publish on a bi-yearly basis: June, and December.
Poetry
We would love to read poems that would make us feel loved. We would be glad to read inspiring, love & romantic, spiritual, relationship poems. We would love to read poems with a strong mastery in language, rhyming or non-rhyming, but which move us emotionally. We also would be glad to read good narrative poetry on nature infusing new perspective, thoughts and passion (birds, animals, plants)
Flash Fiction
Short complete stories that is a fully packed Narrative with character, plot similiar to Fiction but concise and impactful focusing on a single moment with a powerful imagery.
Fiction
We appreciate works on true stories, life experiences, not the usual love and crime stories. Stories with strong values, stories which thrill the readers, stories with an air of suspense, historical fictions, science fiction, fantasy, travel stories, stories which brought a change, made a difference in an individual life or a society or a community. Stories that explore the human relationship, stories with strong character, concepts which would make the audience delve into the story until the last word. We are interested in prose that pushes the limits of human thinking and evokes a strong emotional connect or intellectual response from the audience / reader.
Non-Fiction
We would be delighted to read travelogues, memoirs, essays, inspiring entrepreneurs stories, memoirs that are thoughtful with new perspectives, which resonate with the global audience
